These are some of the CDs and DVDs that I have done the photos and/or artwork.

This project was just thrilling. I took the photos while we were in the studio in San Francisco recording original music for our documentary, TRANSCENDING The Wat Misaka Story. I based the design off of the old Blue Note jazz recordings to give it a more period feel that would match the movie. I changed it to Crimson Note for Wat's alma mater, The University of Utah. I made up the record number using the numbers Wat wore for Utah and the Knicks.
Rosemary has a very soulful Rock and Roll style. She had recently seen these iridescent plankton on a trip and asked me to incorporate them into her CD artwork. "Jump Into the Sparkle" is the first track on the recording. Combining the title of that track with her style, the plankton, and my photo of her, I came up with the final image. I also love that she was game to take a photo in a tub full of flowers for the back of the insert. Below is a link to the website I designed for Rosemary
Roo has these great braids and he was over one afternoon when my studio space was set up. I had asked him to bring over his concert wear and a baton because I had an idea. He is always game and jumped right in as I asked him to repeatedly throw his head back and direct a choir in the heavens. The result was an image he has used for many things including this CD. This CD is a Rock and Roll story of a woman coming to grips with her relationship with her father. The cover image was my interpretation of what "Water From The Moon" could mean. Below is a link to the website I designed for Rosemary
This was for an off-broadway production that I was fortunate enough to work on as the production stage manager as well as doing the production photos and graphic design work.
Julia's music was all about the glory days of Harlem and the Cotton Club. So we tried to give her CD a classic art deco feel.
This hilarious tribute was a "what if" recreation of a 60s television show that had Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett sharing the stage at Carnegie Hall. It asked the question, "What if Julie and Carol had to call in sick and their understudies had to go on? And what if their understudies were Ann Harada and Christine Toy Johnson" The answer was a show that Carol Burnett attended and loved.
Billy came to me and said he wanted an edgy feel with a lot of shadows. So for the cover image we ended up with a black and white portrait I colorized, and the back was cross processed slide film I developed as negative.
Lisa never actually made this CD. I was just very struck at the time by that image when I took it during a photo session and mocked this up for her for fun.
I shot this image of Skie at the end of a day of shooting with him while he was on tour with Bombay Dreams in Houston. It seemed like a perfect CD cover image to me.
This CD was never actually made, but Alan had just recently taken over Hooper's store on Sesame Street when we did his headshot session, and I was just having a good time with the idea of him putting out a kid's CD.
This was a design only project. The original black and white photos were taken by Steve Vaccariello. Ted had a lot of info he wanted to print so I extended the shadows and background areas in the photos to give me extra space. I also added a sepia feel for more warmth.

This was a design only project. Annie came to me with these images and a very specific feeling that she wanted for her CD. The biggest trick was to combine a black and white image with a very colorful cover photo. My solution was to make a reddish sepia tone for the back, and warm up the light and mute the tones for the cover to give the lighting more of a sunset feel instead of the bright afternoon lights of the original image.
